Overview
Mira was entering eyewear's most crowded season with one product: an oversized shield in gloss black. Every competitor launch that quarter leaned on lifestyle.
Solution
We treated the shield as the only black mass in a white void. Front-on symmetry, wet-slicked hair to keep every line vertical, and skin lit to a soft gloss so the matte-black acetate reads as an interruption.
Process
Week one was casting and pre-light: we tested four lighting setups against the gloss acetate and kept the simplest, one large frontal source and a white sweep, tuned until the lens reflection read as a clean horizon line instead of studio clutter.
Week two was the shoot: two days in-studio, 41 setups, working through the shot system from widest to tightest.
Final Thoughts
The campaign shipped exactly as shot. No last-minute lifestyle frames, no compromise crops. The shield sold through its first run in five weeks, and the hero image ran unchanged from homepage to out-of-home, which was the original test: one set of pictures strong enough to be the entire launch.
