Introduction

Naming and full identity for a streetwear label built on the ordinary. A hand-drawn wordmark, a system made to be worn in, and a launch campaign shot in the unglamorous hours the clothes actually live in.

Overview

Challenge

Challenge

The founders came to us with garments and no name. What they had instead was a position: streetwear had become costume, styled on rooftops and shot like sneaker ads, and their clothes were meant for the parts of the week nobody photographs.

Solution

The name came first. NeoYokoto is an invented place, a district that does not exist, which let the brand build its own mythology instead of borrowing Tokyo's. The wordmark is hand-drawn in marker, kept deliberately uneven, with a small stick figure glyph that works alone as the label's shorthand on tabs, zip pulls, and embroidery.

Process

Weeks one and two were naming: 68 candidates, three rounds, trademark screening on the final four. Weeks three to five were the mark itself. We drew roughly 200 wordmark passes by hand, scanned the best 14, and stress-tested them at print scale on actual blanks before choosing.

Conclusion

Conclusion

The first drop sold out its hoodie run in eleven days, and the stick figure has already been tattooed on two customers, which is not a metric we planned for but is the only one the founders quote.

How does the retainer actually work?

You get a monthly block of studio hours and a request queue. We work one request at a time (two on Pro), send progress every 48 hours, and revise until it's right. No scoping calls for every task — you brief, we build.

What's the difference between Standard and Pro?

Hours and speed. Pro carries 70 hours to Standard's 45, runs two requests in parallel, gets priority scheduling, and includes a monthly shoot day in-studio.

Can I pause my retainer?

Anytime. Unused days roll over, and you resume exactly where you left off. There's no minimum term.

What if the first month isn't working out?

If the first week doesn't deliver, the rest of the month is refunded. We'd rather earn the retainer than hold you to it.

Do you work with remote clients?

Yes — most projects run fully remote with weekly review calls. Shoots happen in our studio or on location; product can be shipped to us.

What do we receive at handover?

Everything: source files, brand guidelines, edited imagery, editable templates, and a walkthrough call with your team. The goal is that you don't need us for daily work.
